Madelyn Pope, MSW, LMSW
Many adults, teenagers, and even children fall into this state of loss, overwhelm, and anxiety, all because they've never been able to stick to anything, develop the right habits, or stop repeating the same mistakes.
My mission is to help adults and teenagers change the behaviors and thoughts that make living with ADHD, and Anxiety more difficult. With my help, you'll be able to control impulsive behaviors, erratic thoughts, and harmful mood swings that can undermine your progress.
I have experience working adults and teens that struggle to control behaviors and have been stuck. I am passionate in working with clients of neurodiverse backgrounds to include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, Depression and other Mood Disorders, ADHD.
What you can expect from our sessions:
I use a holistic approach that acknowledges the interaction between physical, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of a person's care and well-being. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and other therapeutic techniques as relevant to each individual client's needs, as therapy is not a one size fits all. As a strong advocate for my clients, I help individuals to learn and use self-advocacy skills from a strengths-based, person-centered, and culturally competent approach to gain confidence to live happier, healthier, and more successful lives.
I provide a warm and welcoming therapeutic environment, whether virtual or in-person. I am here to listen to your needs, your emotions, and your experiences without judgment and to partner with you to find solutions and develop the necessary skills to improve your life and help you to achieve your goals. Together, we will celebrate each of your victories, big or small.
My goal is for you to identify the strengths you possess, learn how to use those strengths, and develop new skills to overcome any challenges you face and to restore hope, instill peace, and experience joy in your daily life.
Why I became a therapist:
I believe that every single person has value and purpose in this world. Everyone deserves to be heard, to be seen, to receive support, and to have peace. My personal experiences have taught me that helping others is my calling; my purpose. I find joy in providing people with the skills needed to reach their full potential.
I am a Licensed Master of Social Work trained to work with adolescents and adults. I obtained both my bachelor's and master's degrees from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY, with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling.
I invite you to contact me today and take that first step towards regaining control of your life to become your best self.
